Rebirth

Today I attended Sunday worship services for the last time as a member of the Utah-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I went because my daughter was speaking (delivering a sermon) on the Atonement of Jesus Christ in Sacrament Meeting and I love watching her express herself in public. I brought along my resignation letter because I wanted to hand it to my bishop in person. He is a longtime friend, and an outstanding human being.

I thought it fitting to start life "officially" anew on this holiday that, for eons, has signified rebirth and new life to generations upon generations, since people began to celebrate life itself at all.

I don't know what tomorrow looks like. I'll be posting some of my reflections here in the days and weeks to come, though I warn you now that none will be original, nor will any fail to have been more concisely, elegantly, or enlighteningly expressed by better and earlier minds.

Till then, happy Easter, those of you who celebrate it today! Happy Spring to those in the northern hemisphere, and happy day in general to one and all! 😉
